came up with a great shot
our main character sits at his wheel, working.
the camera is focused on him and his immediate surroundings.
the camera is fixed, no zoom, no cuts.
behind him are the windows that reveal the courtyard.
the frame includes maybe the width of one of these windows, or a third.
two figures are walking towards the window from the courtyard, they are out of focus.
they come right up to the window, still out of focus, one of them begins to light a cigarette-SWITCH FOCUS to these figures as one of them lights the cigarette.
That's the jist of it, it'll be more elaborate when I shoot the actually thing, just officializing the idea...
